TAU GAMMA PHI/TAU GAMMA SIGMA TRISKELION’S GRAND FRATERNITY AND SORORITY Central Alberta Council est. AUGUST 02, 2009 HISTORY The power of the Internet and the connection from the Southern Alberta Council (Calgary), through its yahoogroup, started all the events leading to the establishment of the Interim Central Alberta Council (ICAC).

When Brod. Adolfo “Adoy” Adolfo (Cebu) arrived in Alberta, particularly in Red Deer last October 28, 2008, he was expecting that he could find brods/sis in the city but failed so he started using the Internet as a tool to search for existing Councils in Canada, particularly in Alberta. Brod. Adoy found the website of the Calgary Council which helped him locate Brod. Eric Bautista (Rizal), who was at that time, also looking for brods/sis in the city. Brod Adoy then e-mailed Brod. Eric and give his contact information. Because of his eagerness to meet a fellow Triskelion, Brod. Eric then called Brod. Adoy who, at the time, was working. Brod Eric then visited Brod. Adoy at his apartment and talked about finding other brods/sis who are residing in the city. Without the knowledge of Brod Adoy and Brod Eric, another brod has posted his Triskelion identity at one of the social sites in the Internet by putting the fraternity seal as his profile background. The brod is Norman Dailo (Quezon City) who, at that time, was also looking for fellow Triskelions. Brod Eric informed Brod Adoy that he got the number of Brod Norman and that they agreed to meet at Brod Norman’s place of work. There, Brod Adoy and Brod Eric finally met Brod Norman and another brod, Rodolfo “Rudy” Gomez (Pampanga), who is a co-worker of Brod Norman. That meeting started the informal bonding between the four brothers.

On July 4, 2009, the Southern Alberta Council held a picnic at the Sylvan Lake and invited brods/sis from all over the province to participate with them in the event, where Brods Eric, Norman and Adoy agreed to attend. In the assembly area where the Red Deer brods/sis would meet, other brods showed up, like Brod Alford Marinas (Nueva Vizcaya), Brod Joel Liwanag (Pampanga) and Brod Jimmy Bitara (Bicol). The picnic activity of the Southern Alberta Council has been the key to the establishment of the ICAC. It was officially formed on August 2, 2009 at Brod Norman’s place during the first formal meeting of all Red Deer brods. During the meeting, all seven brods were present and agreed to hold an election where all of them are considered the Founding Members of the ICAC. The election went smoothly for the first ever set of officers of the ICAC. The officers are composed of Brod Norman Dailo (Quezon City), president, Brod Adolfo V. Adolfo (Cebu), internal vice-president, Brod Eric Bautista (Rizal), external vice- president, Brod Alford Marinas (Nueva Vizcaya), secretary, Brod Joel Liwanag (Pampanga), treasurer, Brod Jimmy Bitara (Bicol), project and planning and Brod Rodolfo Gomez (Pampanga), membership and organization.

The brods also agreed to put up funds for the ICAC to move forward with a monthly contribution of $20. Interim Central Alberta Council is used by the Founding Members just to follow the rules set by the Canada National Council that a city can create or form a chapter/council if it reaches the required minimum number of 15 brods/sis living or residing in it.

Recognition/Acceptance from the Canada National Council

The Interim Central Alberta Council (ICAC) strives to achieve the recognition from the Canada National Council (CNC) as one of the three (3) councils existing in the Province of Alberta. The long wait was over when the Northern Alberta Council, with the leadership of Brod Joselito Velasco, together with the CNC, headed by Premier Allan Cruz, spearheaded a camping activity for all TRISKELION in the province last July 2-4, 2010. The CNC, during the time of planning for the event, recognize the ICAC then later on was granted the councilship status on October 4, 2010 even if the strength of 15 members was not achieved.
